Dr. Özlem Altuntaş, Vice Rector of MTU Prof. Dr. Süleyman Serdar Karaca, Industrial Engineer Specialist Mehmet Gündem, Specialist Ümit Aydoğan, Specialist Mahmut Topçu and MTU Faculty of Social and Human Sciences Deputy Dean Dr. Instructor Member Emrah Dönmez attended the protocol ceremony between Malatya Turgut Özal University and Malatya Provincial Directorate of Industry and Technology, aiming at Public-University-Industry Cooperation.
The performed cooperation protocol aims to develop the Public-University-Industry Cooperation (KUSI), which has an important place in the development of the country's economy, and to provide an institutional structure, to encourage innovation, to strengthen competitiveness, to develop new policies, to exchange information between the university and the industry.
With the protocol arranged to be the roadmap for Turkey to actualise the vision of “National Technology Strong Industry”, it is planned to contribute to the 2023 targets in the fields of industry and technology in line with 5 main components, namely "High Technology and Innovation”, “Digital Transformation and Industry Move”, "Entrepreneurship", "Human Capital" "Infrastructure" which are included in the 2023 Industry and Technology Strategy Document prepared by the Ministry of Industry and Technology.

Rector Prof. Dr. Karabulut stated that with the protocol signed, university-industry cooperation will be strengthened and qualified workforce opportunities will increase, and said “Malatya Turgut Özal University has determined as its mission and vision the transformation of science and academic studies into production and practice, and their presentation to the public. In this context, as Malatya Turgut Özal University, we are present in all kinds of projects that can be done and implemented on university-industry cooperation. As a university, we will always fulfill our responsibility for the development, growth and brand value of Malatya, and for the increase in employment in parallel. We aim to increase production with high added value and advanced technology, to reduce dependence on imported intermediate goods and to expand the use of domestic products, with the works to be carried out with this protocol we have realized.”

Rector Prof. Dr. Karabulut also stated that it is aimed to contribute to the growth and development of the country by providing support to all stakeholders, especially academics and industrialists, to increase economic and technological independence and improve competitiveness. Rector Karabulut, who stated that universities are the cornerstone of industry, said, “The fact that universities are institutions that focus on R&D and P&D studies due to their nature, scientific data and qualified information that will contribute to the solution of local, regional or national problems in a short time or that can be turned into economic value. provides production. Provincial Director Gülaçtı said “It is the primary goal of our Provincial Directorate to disseminate the R&D culture in our province, to use the outputs obtained as a result of R&D activities in the industry, to commercialize them effectively and quickly, to create new industrial areas for the industrial development of the province, the labor and training needed by the industrial sector in terms of quality and quantity and to work on the need and to offer solutions. Although Malatya Turgut Özal University, a permanent member of the Provincial KUSI Planning and Development Board, is a new university, we see that it has accomplished important studies.
