From the moment I took over the task, we worked together as a team to complete our establishment.
During this process, when we first started at our university, we had an Agricultural Faculty and vocational schools in 8 districts, and we continue to work seriously at our university with our two main campuses, Battalgazi and Yeşilyurt. We started with the faculty of agriculture, then we started active education in all 5 of our faculties with the support of our esteemed President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, our Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca and our YÖK President Yekta Saraç. In addition to the Faculty of Medicine, we conduct field-specific studies in all our faculties and vocational schools, including the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, and the Faculty of Health Sciences. At the same time, each of our vocational schools includes the characteristics of the region in which they are located.”

Rector Prof. Dr. Karabulut also mentioned the activities related to Apricot and Traditional and Complementary Medicine and added; “Our audience knows Malatya and Malatya Turgut Özal University with Apricot. Apart from apricots, we protect the green and nature, especially with our greenhouse areas related to the cultivation of medicinal aromatic plants such as basil. After the declarations of our President, we planted cannabis, and we carried out national and international studies in the industrial sector.
We have studies that can be used in the medical field in the future. We continued our studies on apricot kernels with patent studies and also we got approval from the ministry of agriculture and turned it into a product.”

“I approach our students like a mother”
Referring to MTU's goals of raising young people with social responsibility awareness, Prof. Dr. Karabulut said, “We have studies that concern women, especially our studies on women and family studies continue. I approach our youth, girls and students like a mother. Although the Covid-19 process has made them dependent on television and computers, we will support them in the next process.”

“From the moment we were established, we built our infrastructure on digitalization
Covid 19 pandemi sürecinde uzaktan eğitim alt yapısı ile eğitim sürecini devam ettiren Malatya Turgut Özal Üniversitesi’nin bu faaliyetlere henüz kuruluş yılında başladıklarını ifade eden Rektör Karabulut, “Kurulduğumuz andan itibaren altyapımızı dijitalleşme üzerine kurduk.
“From the moment we were established, we built our infrastructure on digitalization. In the distance education process, we use the software that we have made in accordance with the domestic and national understanding. We can teach synchronous and asynchronous lessons. In our satisfaction surveys, the feedback of young people reaches 90%. For example, we celebrated the Youth and Sports Day with an online concert, we organized online graduation programs, online panels and trainings, and our students and all our audience were very pleased with that. We have a distance education certified protocol with the Ministry of Health. We train medical representatives. Even though the word digitalization sounds good, we also missed being in touch with nature”.
MTÜ gives importance to ARGE and ÜRGE studies
Rector Prof. Dr. Karabulut stated that they accelerated their ARGE and ÜRGE activities with the motto that production is needed for the development of the country, and added, “Our university also has studies on the transformation of foods into extracts which prevent cancer and boost the immune system. Some products that are used internationally are sometimes not available in our country, now we are producing them. There are also artificial intelligence studies carried out jointly by our Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Engineering. Our new departments have been activated in our agriculture faculty. Our medical faculty has been at the forefront in international agreements with its anatomy and virtual laboratories. For example, we made an agreement with the Royal Hospital in London on GETAT. We are also doing very good works at Malatya Turgut Özal University Training and Research Hospital.”

Success in life and socializing are also very important” Rector Karabulut ended her speech with these statements: “Young people love their country, we did not gain this land easily. Regardless of their profession, which department they choose, they should work hard and improve themselves. Of course, life success and socialization are as important as academic success.”
